100 Facts, 1 Opinion and a Lightbulb Joke The Nation magazine has assembled an excellent downloadable document entited "100 Facts and 1 Opinion: The Non-Arguable Case Against The Bush Administration." I'd encourage you download this, and make many copies. Put them in public libraries, coffee shops, airports, laundromats, and other areas where people converge.. especially in swing states. http://www.thenation.com/special/pdf/100facts.pdf meanwhile.... How many Bush Administration officials does it take to change a light bulb? None. There's nothing wrong with that light bulb. There is no need to change anything. We made the right decision and nothing has happened to change our minds. People who criticize this light bulb now, just because it doesn't work anymore, supported us when we first screwed it in, and when these flip-floppers insist on saying that it is burned out, they are merely giving aid and encouragement to the Forces of Darkness.
Countdown 10-27-2004 It’s 6 days before the big election in America. Within a week, barring any electoral legal tie-up, we’ll find out if the country will validate the presidency of George W. Bush. What amazes me is how so many otherwise intelligent people are perfectly willing to accept some massive lies to justify some major mistakes. They believe the mis-statements about Iraq working closely with BinLaden to attack America despite the fact that every accountable source has proven that it just isn’t so. The same people were so eager to send soldiers to stop the “weapons of mass destructions” that were also proven to be a massive falsehood. The main reason for attacking Iraq was been changed to something about “liberating the people,” which is a major U-turn from the original “WMD” justification. Many of these people will only pay attention to select news sources that they are comfortable with. If they like the basic premises presented by these organizations, they are

Fear and Loathing, Campaign 2004 Dr. Hunter S. Thompson is back in action, and I couldn't be happier. Here's an excerpt : Armageddon came early for George Bush this year, and he was not ready for it. His long-awaited showdowns with my man John Kerry turned into a series of horrible embarrassments that cracked his nerve and demoralized his closest campaign advisers. They knew he would never recover, no matter how many votes they could steal for him in Florida, where the presidential debates were closely watched and widely celebrated by millions of Kerry supporters who suddenly had reason to feel like winners. Kerry came into October as a five-point underdog with almost no chance of winning three out of three rigged confrontations with a treacherous little freak like George Bush. But the debates are over now, and the victor was clearly John Kerry every time. He steamrollered Bush and left him for roadkill. Did you see Bush on TV, trying to debate? Jesus, he talked l
Suggestions for a Home Film Fest I love my DVDs. I love watching 'em. I love assembling 'em. I love trading DVDs. For the past year and a half, I've been producing DVDs for Democracy. First, I produced DVDs for the Howard Dean campaign, and now I'm doing some stuff for the John Kerry campaign. If anyone needs a DVD to convince folks that we can have a better government that what's in place, I'll be happy to share what I have. I enjoy trading DVDs with different folks. Sometimes when I see someone offering a DVD that looks like something I might enjoy, I might send an email to see if they're interested in trading. When I heard about the film " BUSH'S BRAIN ," I knew it would be something I'd be interested in. I was glad that someone dared to document the relationship George W. Bush has with his advisor Karl Rove, so I sent an email to see if we could do a trade. I didn't hear anything back from the BushBrain pe

Bush nixes Muslim peacekeepers for Iraq President George W. Bush rebuffed a plan last month for a Muslim peacekeeping force that would have helped the United Nations organize elections in Iraq, according to Saudi and Iraqi officials. As a result, the UN continues to have a skeletal presence in Iraq, with only four staff members working full time on preparing for elections set for the end of January. UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan has refused to establish a new UN headquarters in Baghdad unless countries commit troops for a special force to protect it. Saudi leaders, including Crown Prince Abdullah, personally lobbied Bush in July to sign off on the plan to establish a contingent of several hundred troops from Arab and Muslim nations. Abdullah discussed the plan in a 10-minute phone conversation with Bush on July 28 after meeting with Secretary of State Colin Powell, according to Saudi officials familiar with the negotiations. Diplomats said Annan accepted the plan. But th
More on Jon Stewart Crossfire It's great to see that so many websites have writtten about the very excellent Friday episode of Crossfire with Jon Stewart. Here's some other places where you can see the video: Random Foo iFilm Media Matters Indymedia BitFlood
Jon Stewart rips into Tucker Carlson, Triumph loves Pat Buchanan “I‘m a little disoriented, you know, because we live in this time where Pat Buchanan is voice of reason. “ - Triumph the Insult Dog, MSNBC October 13, 2004 It’s been a great week to see some fun political punditry on cable television. On Wednesday, right after the last presidential debate, I tuned into MSNBC’s “AFTER HOURS” show to see Triumph the Insult Dog sit in on a panel with Ron Reagan Jr. and Pat Buchanan. Hilarious stuff! Note to NBC: Give this rubber dog puppet his own show! One of the best entertainers on the network! There really should be a place where folks can see a replay of this show, but unfortunately, there isn’t one. Luckily, you can read the transcript. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/6247241/ Today, as I edited some projects, multi-tasking with the TV blaring in the background, I stopped in my tracks when Jon Stewart of the Daily Show appeared on CNN’s “CROSSFIRE” show.

Bush's earpiece- Part 2 The story continues to unravel regarding the wireless prompting of President Bush at the debate with John Kerry. The most interesting theory is that Bush is using a tooth implant with a microchip to receive wireless signals. The London Science Museum actually displayed a mockup of such a device in November 2002 . Dave Lindorff wrote a great article on this story for Salon and continues to write about it for his own THIS CAN"T BE HAPPENING website . The Canonfire blog also has an excellent article on the investigative research taking place in cyberspace . At NYC Indy Media, you can actually hear the portion of the debate when Bush says ""now let me finish" to nobody in particular . To be continued...

Is Bush using an earpiece? Some websites have suggested that President Bush is using a wireless earpiece to help him deliver speeches... and engage in debates. There's a photo from the debate, showing a strange bulge on Bush's back that reinforces this theory. Take a look at these URLS: http://www.isbushwired.com http://theleftist.blog-city.com/read/652304.htm http://nyc.indymedia.org/newswire/display/125456/index.php http://www.newsdissector.org/weblog/print.cfm?ID=BAD85AF3%2D4E96%2D4229%2DABD218C92C51577B http://www.rense.com/general35/voices.htm
Dick Cheney in 1992 "I would guess if we had gone into Iraq I would still have forces in Baghdad today. We'd be running the country. We would not have been able to get everybody out and bring everybody home. And the final point that I think needs to be made is this question of casualties. I don't think you could have done all of that without significant additional U.S. casualties. And while everybody was tremendously impressed with the low cost of the (1991) conflict, for the 146 Americans who were killed in action and for their families, it wasn't a cheap war. And the question in my mind is how many additional American casualties is Saddam (Hussein) worth? And the answer is not that damned many. So, I think we got it right, both when we decided to expel him from Kuwait, but also when the president made the decision that we'd achieved our objectives and we were not going to go get bogged down in the problems of trying to take over and govern Iraq."
